First Post: What's New?

The purpose of this blog is to independently discuss current contract job opportunities for individuals with process control manufacturing experience. I'm hoping on a regular basis to be able to publish these situations in a more dynamic way than those found on a lot of static job sites. I'll do my best to describe the openings, their duration, what I'm looking for etc. Along the way I might also add a few informational items that I find that applies to the world of process control.

Let me first introduce myself, and what I do. My name's Bill Fester, and for over 18 years (over 14 of which I've had my own company), I've provided individuals who do applications and programming on various kinds of automation systems (mostly DCS and PLC based systems), on primarily a contract basis. I've provided expertise to a wide variety of industries, from pharmaceutical, petrochemical, paper, power, and consumer goods nationally and in a few cases internationally. My assignments have been as short as a few days to well over a decade. The primary focus of my practice as been to operate less as a bodyshop, and more as a talent agent with a very small focused niche. For that reason I've been able to work with the same individuals over and over again.

Since this is a learning experience for me, I'm very much open to any and all suggestions and comments.

Let's give this a try....
